Armwrestling
The table sport and the specific strengths it demands.
Armwrestling is a table sport decided in seconds. It rewards strength in very specific positions: the hand, wrist, and forearm often matter more than how much you can bench.
What matters most
- Hand control: controlling the opponent's hand (cupping and pronation) is the foundation of most winning techniques.
- Wrist and forearm strength: flexion, pronation, and a strong wrist are the prime movers at the table.
- Specific angles: strength is trained in the exact joint positions used in a match, often with bands, cables, and handles rather than barbells.
- Tendon resilience: the static, high-tension nature of the sport stresses connective tissue, so loading is built up carefully.
This is a starting stub. See Grip for the hands and Soft Tissue for tendon adaptation.
